NSC's Able Sail program introduces teens to the independence and fun of sailing. Our experienced friendly instructors will ensure a comfortable, safe and enjoyable introduction to sailing. Basic sailing skills and concepts are introduced through lessons in the classroom and on the water. Each participant is paired with an instructor or companion sailor in a Martin 16 sailboat as they learn to sail. A small class size of five ensures steady progress.
Participant Eligibility: Youth diagnosed with a physical disability between the ages 12 -18 yrs. Must be independent in all activities of daily living and able to communicate verbally. An electronic lift system is available to transfer sailors into the Martin 16 sailboats. For more info contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Participants may be eligible for funding through the Canadian Tire Parasport Jumpstart Fund. Applications are to be filled out and submitted by the participant.
